PANAJI: Is St Cruz MLA Vishnu Surya Wagh's facebook post on Tuesday a sign about a fresh move he is planing for the 2017 assembly election? The outspoken BJP MLA, in his facebook comment, praised AAP for drawing the attention of the police to the alleged prostitution business thriving along the coastal belt.
"AAP has done well to draw the attention of police authorities towards prostitution business thriving in coastal Goa. It has turned into a real menace which is bringing ignominy and shame to our state. According to the feedback I receive, some police officers also are helping the pimps in this trade. Government has to tackle this matter seriously. I will give whatever information I have to the police. In case you happen to know anything in this regard, please don't hesitate," said Wagh in his facebook post.
Though there were strong signs that he would quit BJP during the 2014 parliamentary elections, but his plansdid not materialize.
Wagh lost the chairmanship of Kala Academy (KA) soon after and many blamed it on his acrimonious relationship with the BJP. His relations with BJP improved a little after chief minister Laxmikant Parsekar took over and Wagh was re-instated as KA chairman.
Considered to be close to Parsekar, it appears Wagh had a rethink of his relations with BJP while recovering from heart illness a month ago
