BBSM activists show black flags at CM, Dy CM in Mapusa

MAPUSA: Supporters of Bharatiya Bhasha Suraksha Manch (BBSM) waved black flags at Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar, Deputy Chief Minister Francis D’Souza, Water Resources Minister Dayanand Mandrekar, Tourism Minister Dilip Parulekar, Aldona MLA Glen Ticlo and Calangute MLA Michael Lobo near Hanuman Natyagriha in Mapusa on Tuesday when their vehicles passed the spot.

On Tuesday, at around 4 p.m, several BBSM activists gathered near the Hanuman Natyagriha to protest against provision of grants to English medium primary schools. The activists shouted slogans against the BJP-led government over medium of instruction issue as the ministers and MLAs passed by. They had come for inauguration of new Mapusa police station building.
The BBSM supporters were protesting on the main road leading towards the new police station building. A huge police force was deployed to maintain law and order.
When Deputy Chief Minister Francis passed by, he was shown black flags and the same was done for Tourism Minister Parulekar, Water Resources Minister Mandrekar, Aldona MLA Glen Ticlo and Calangute MLA Michael Lobo and lastly when Chief Minister Parsekar’s car passed by they shouted slogans and showed black flags.
