Goa polls: Congress points to 27 scams since 2012

PANAJI: Listing out 27 'scams' perpetrated under the current BJP government in the state, Goa Pradesh Congress Committee on Thursday promised to investigate the BJP's "crony capitalism" on priority basis, if elected to power. Making a last ditch attempt to swing undecided voters, as campaigning drew to a close, AICC general secretary Digvijaya Singh said the Congress had sufficient evidence to prove the scams and dared the BJP to file a defamation suit against him, if the allegations were wrong.

I-T raids on Babush aides ahead of battle for Panaji

Panaji: In a major development before the state goes to polls on Saturday, I-T department on Thursday conducted searches at the premises of former St Cruz MLA Atanasio ‘Babush’ Monseratte’s close aides and found property documents worth crores of rupees.
The I-T sleuths conducted searches at around three different places across Taleigao and Caranzalem. The search operations begun at around 8am and continued till late night. More than 40 I-T officers from Goa and Karnataka were part of the searches.

15 lakh netted in raids of BJP karyakartas houses

PANJIM: In a late night raid the Flying Squad raided the house of BJP karyakartas and seized Rs 15 lakh in cash.
According to sources cash was seized from the house of Rajkumar Desai, Vice-President of Porvorim BJP mandal and ex-chairperson of Goa State Co-operative Bank. Sources said the house of another worker was also raided.
