Kamakshi Forex victims slam police for slow pobe

MARGAO: The victims of Kamakshi Forex have criticised the police for failing to expedite their investigation and feel that by giving the accused more time, the accused would hide the money stolen from the victims. There are over 500 complainants in the case and the collective loss is pegged at around Rs 32 crore. It may be recalled that, at a recent meeting, it was resolved that the police should file all of the individual 500-odd complaints and not go by a single case.
Some of the victims have planned to file an intervention petition next week, asking the court to monitor the investigations.
“The public are not happy with the pace at which the case is going. If the accused is let go easily, then it is the public who have to worry if the police cannot recover their money,” said Advocate Antonio Clovis Da Costa, adding that the victims would file the intervention petition early next week.
