Vasco: Drugs has become an issue in Vasco too. MLA Carlos Almeida said that he has received information that drug dealers from even as far as Calangute have been supplying Drugs outside school and college campuses, while police have turned a blind eye to it.
Almeida has said that he will be taking up the issue of drug menace in Vasco during the upcoming assembly session.
"I will seek to know from the police higher-ups about the actions taken by Vasco police over the last few years and their efforts in solving the crisis," he said. When TOI contacted PI Sagar Ekoskar of Vasco police station, he said, "We have been watching the situation and have booked four cases against drug dealers in two years". Almeida said that he has received many complaints from locals in Vasco and the youth have been badly affected.
