RSS does not run schools, says Velingkar

Rubbishing statements made by the Forum for Rights of Childrens’ Education (FORCE) leader Savio Lopes, Bharatiya Bhasha Suraksha Manch leader, Subhash Velingkar, clarified that
Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) does not run any school. He, however, stated that many RSS workers runrnVidya Bharati schools, which he claimed to be the largest educational NGO in the world.

PANAJI: Addressing a press conference on Wednesday, Velingkar said, “Savio Lopes has alleged that RSS is running schools in English medium. If he is trying to mislead people with such information, I pity
him. There cannot be a funnier statement than RSS running schools in English medium. This is false. RSS never runs schools. It is never their target. The schools promoted by Vidya Bharati are run by
many RSS workers. This is the biggest educational NGO in the world which is running nearly 25,875 schools.” Stating that RSS is a component of BBSM and all the Manch leaders are taking the movement forward in their individual capacity, he pointed out, “We are not opposing education in English. Whoever wants to join English schools by spending money can do so. We are not opposing it. But, at least primary
education should be in mother tongue.”
