PORVORIM: Deputy Chief Minister Francis D’Souza informed the House on Tuesday that the Regional Plan will be finalised before December and that the revision is currently on.
Leader of the Opposition Pratapsingh Rane said it’s been four and a half years that the Regional Plan has not been implemented and mentioned that if illegalities are to stop, the Regional Plan is necessary.
Mentioning that the previous Congress government had come up with a Regional Plan he said the government can make changes to that plan and implement it fast if they are not able to come up with their own plan. He also said Goa will be ruined if the Regional Plan is not implemented.
Benjamin Silva demanded that illegal sale of plots at Sarzora village and illegal construction of roads through paddy fields needs to be stop.
D’Souza responded saying the stop work order has been made in June and the Town and Country Planning Department has not permitted sale of plots and that if illegal work is going on, the government will take action against it.
Speaking on the issue Rohan Khaunte informed the House that plots have been sold illegally for cheap rates while Francisco Pacheco said that land has been illegally sold cheaply in Sanguem taluka.
Subhash Phaldesai stated that till the Regional Plan is not implemented these illegal constructions will go on.
