Gadkari on mission to fix issues

Panaji: Union minister for road transport and highways, Nitin Gadkari, who is the Goa BJP desk-incharge, has troubleshooting within the Sangh Parivar as his top priority.
He held informal talks with senior party leaders to get an idea of the ground situation in the state. Sources said that, he hasn't got positive feedback with just five months remaining to go to polls.

Sources, in the party, said that Gadkari was surprised to learn about the factionalism in the party and wants to put the house in order.
He was aware that Subhash Velingkar's removal as the chief of Goa RSS earlier this month and its consequences could hit the BJP badly in the run-up to the polls, sources added.
Gadkari is learnt to have discussed ways of damage control within the Parivar. He has decided to work towards ghar wapsi of the members. Sources said that Gadkari is also looking at rapproachement with Velingkar. A BJP leader said that he has the humility to interact with Velingkar, if the latter agrees.
The sources also said that senior RSS member and forest minister Rajendra Arlekar could play an important role in the uniting the factions of the Parivar.
Gadkari is confident about the keeping the alliance going with the MGP but his concern is the Velingkar factor, the sources added.
