PANJIM: Porvorim Police on Thursday busted a high-end online prostitution racket operating from Calangute. Police have arrested two pimps and rescued two girls from West Bengal.
According to Porvorim Police Inspector Jivba Dalvi, a trap was laid at Chogam road after calling on the contact number sourced from the website. Both accused, Anil Lal Ravat of Uttar Pradesh and Sunando Kishor Giri of Odisha, who had come to deliver the girls to the customers were arrested.
“It is team work of Porvorim police station that has booked four such cases in the past and this is the fifth case booked,” Dalvi told Herald.
Dalvi said that main lady pimp Neha (full name not known), who is a native of Madhya Pradesh, is absconding. He said that a special team has been formed and sent to hunt the female pimp.
Both the girls have been sent to the Protection Home at Merces whereas the accused have been booked under the Prevention of Human Trafficking Act.
