With BBSM concerns looming, Parrikar to meet workers to find solution

Defence Minister forced to step in to address RSS-BBSM anti-BJP stand on MoI; meeting to take place prior to the BJP-MGP alliance meeting

PANJIM: Clearly concerned with the ongoing row between the RSS and the BJP Goa unit, and the subsequent announcement by BBSM to fight elections against the saffron brigade, the Union Defence Minister has been forced to move in to handle the crisis.

Manohar Parrikar will chair a crucial meeting of BJP workers in Panjim on September 17 to discuss the matter haunting the party ahead of 2017 polls in a bid to find a solution to the burning issue of rebellion call given by breakaway RSS faction backed by BBSM,
“Chief Minister has struggled to find a solution to the contentious and very vexed BBSM row and hence the party now feels Parrikar’s help is also needed in sorting out the issue,” said a top BJP official refusing to be named.
The meeting, to be attended by senior BJP leaders including Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar, will be the first official meeting of party workers in preparation for the 2017 State Assembly elections.
Parrikar, who is Parsekar’s predecessor, had distanced himself from the ongoing issues surrounding the rebel RSS group headed by Subhash Velingkar, who had accused the Defence Minister of conspiring against him with the Sangh.
“Parrikar had decided that only after Ganesh Chaturthi he will begin preparations for the polls,” sources said adding that ‘the meeting will have no discussion on the alliance’.
