Petrol crisis coming up?

Panaji : Owing to a long-pending demand for an increase in margins, petrol pump dealers all across the country started their protest on Wednesday by stopping sales from 7-7.10pm, along with switching off their lights. This 10-minute symbolic protest will continue till October 26.
Petrol pump dealers' associations across the nation have warned that if the demands are not met by October 29, dealers would not make purchase of petrol on November 3 and 4, which can cause shortage of fuel for commuters.

The association has also announced that from November 5 onwards, fuel stations across the country will operate only from 9am to 6pm. The pumps will also remain shut on all Sundays, on every second and fourth Saturday of the month and on all the national holidays.
Dealers have alleged that they are getting a low margin from the oil companies to keep the pumps operational 365 days of the year.
The associations have decided to turn off the company's emblem lights from November 5 and will stop purchasing automobile lubricants from November 6. tnn
