PANJIM: The Delhi Police Crime Branch in cooperation with the Goa Police on Friday arrested two Nigerian nationals for allegedly cheating a Goan woman of more than Rs 8 lakh.
The police officials have confirmed that the two accused have been identified as Chukwuma Collins (35) and Nicudemus Obinn (27), both Nigerian, used to befriend people on Facebook and then ask for money to send “necessary items” to their family members in UK.

Police have also confirmed that the two accused used to make up stories about the poor conditions of their family members living in western countries and ask the victims to help them with money.
“Three laptops, seven data cards, 36 SIM cards and 26 mobile phones, three USB pen drives, have been recovered from the two accused,” said a police official.
Police had initiated a probe into the case following a complaint from Bridget Fernandes at the Cyber Crime police station in Panjim, that some persons duped her to the tune of Rs 8,04,300 on the pretext of sending a parcel carrying pounds and jewellery.
However, both have been arrested and were produced in a Dwarka court and later taken on a transit remand by Goa Police.
