BJP-MGP alliance will win 26 plus seats: Damodar

MARGAO: BJP state general secretary Damodar Naik criticised the state Congress and its president Luizinho Faleiro for ‘misleading’ the  people of the state in order to gain political mileage. Naik said that the BJP- MGP alliance will win 26 plus seats including Fatorda in the forthcoming assembly election.
Addressing the media, Naik said, “The Congress is now dependent on Madhya Pradesh leader Digvijay Singh to lead Goa in the next state elections.  I challenge the GPCC president Luizinho Faleiro to an open debate”.
He said BJP has done a lot of development in Goa during the last four years. “The BJP had to clear the mess of seven years of Congress rule in the state,” Naik alleged.
However,  when  the media  drew his  attention on the decision of  the BJP  to  take  Dabolim MLA Mauvin Godinho into its fold and gave him the SGPDA chairmanship Naik  fumbled to reply stating that  it was the collective decision of the party. Asked whether BJP is also short of leaders given the fact that it named the Taleigao indoor stadium as Shama Prasad Mukherjee stadium, Naik could not give a satisfactory reply.
