MAPUSA: A head master of a government high school in the Pernem taluka has been booked for allegedly raping a minor girl of standard I.
The police said the mother of the victim has allegedly filed a complaint accusing the headmaster of raping her minor daughter. The police have booked the offence under Section 376 and said that the girl had been sent for medical examinations and the report was awaited.
Following the assault in April, the victim's mother had taken her to a private hospital where doctors opined she was raped. After the incident, the mother asked for the school leaving certificate which was allegedly delayed by the headmaster. It is only after receiving the certificate, the mother filed the complaint.
"The victim's mother has alleged rape. We have registered the case under Section 376 IPC, based on the initial medical report further inquiry will be initiated" Pernem PI said.
