Bouncer held for raping minor

PANAJI: Farooq Panwale, 23, a resident of Porvorim, who works as a bouncer has been arrested by Porvorim police station in an alleged rape case of a minor.
The incident came to light when the 17-year-old girl left her house without informing anybody at home as she got pregnant from a rape incident.

Porvorim police inspector Jivba Dalvi said that on Saturday, the mother of the survivor lodged a kidnapping complaint at Porvorim police station. Police immediately swung into action and put the cell phone used by the kidnapped girl on surveillance and examined the call details of the survivor.
During the surveillance, police found the location of the survivor at Kolhapur, Maharashtra. After the call details was examined and police identified a close friend of the survivor. With the help of the same friend, police established contact with the survivor and she was convinced to come back home. Police immediately, sent a team to get the girl back and the bus on which she was travelling was intercepted at Sawantwadi, Maharashtra.
She also told police that as she was pregnant, she decided to leave home without thinking about it.
During the recording of the statement of the survivor, she disclosed that she was raped by Panwale at Porvorim and that she was pregnant. Police said that the boy took advantage of the girl and had physical relations with the girl. Dalvi said after sometime, the accused abandoned the girl.
Immediately, after recording the statement, Dalvi said that Panwale was arrested.
