GU polls: Youth abducted to obstruct voting

QUEPEM: Goa University polls took an ugly turn on Monday, with a student of the Government College here being kidnapped, reportedly to prevent him from casting his vote to elect the university representative.
Second year BCom student, Charan Deiker, was released later in the day after voting was over.
Police swung into action soon after and arrested two other students of the college who, Deiker alleged, were the kidnappers.

The accused, Gitesh Naik from Curchorem and Sanket Kudtarker who are first and second year students of the same college and were nabbed in the second half of the day following a police complaint filed by Deiker.
Investigations in the matter are in progress, a police officer said.
