Election results will soon be there for all to see, says Velingkar

PANAJI: There are only four months to go for the assembly polls and the results will be soon there for all to see, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) break-away Goa faction chief Subhash Velingkar said on Sunday.

He was reacting to CM Laxmikant Parsekar and Union defence minister Manohar Parrikar stating on Saturday that Goa BJP will now go all out against Velingkar as he no more has the RSS shield to protect him.
"Only political leaders need shields to hide behind. I don't need any shield as I am an open person who has always followed his principles," said Velingkar, who has crossed swords with the BJP over the state government continuing grants to 127 English medium primary schools against the state's earlier policy of state aid to only regional language schools.
He also said on Sunday that if any Goa BJP leader wants to support the cause of the Bharatiya Bhasha Suraksha Manch (BBSM), of which he is a convener, of grants to only regional language schools, then the doors are open to them.
BBSM has declared that it will float a political party with the aim to defeat the BJP in the 2017 assembly polls and that the announcement on this front will be made on October 2.
The saga began a few months ago, when Parrikar was termed a betrayer at a protest meet in Shiroda over the medium of instruction issue in the state.
Backed by Velingkar, who was then RSS chief in Goa, BBSM,called BJP leaders "professional liars". Velingkar alleged that Parrikar had betrayed Goans on the issue of medium of instruction for political gain.
