NCP rolls out 2017 assembly election campaign in Vasco

Vasco: Goa desk in-charge and Rajya Sabha member of Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) Praful Patel, while holding a worker's convention meet in Vasco, declared on Sunday that the NCP has started its election campaign in Goa from the port town.
Patel made it clear that the NCP is ready to merge with all secular parties to defeat the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)in Goa.

Patel said "Mahaghatbandhan is the need of the hour." Hinting at Congress, Patel said "Some parties feel that they can alone defeat BJP on their own, but that is not possible without coming together." He also added that nobody should underestimate NCP by thinking that it is weak. If the need arises, the party can go single-handedly for the upcoming assembly election, he said.
He said NCP can win the elections in Goa and also that their candidate in Vasco ex-revenue minister and MLA Jose Philip D'Souza will win the Vasco seat of Vasco constituency for NCP.
Patel added, "In 1999, we started our political success in Goa, but, unfortunately, the last election was very bad for us." For the convention, Kerala transport minister A K Sasidharan, NCP Goa observer Nawab Malik, NCP state president Jose Philip D'Souza and others were present. tnn
Patel also said that people in many states are angry with the central government for many reasons. Goans too felt that after Manohar Parrikar becoming the defence minister the state of Goa will progress but the reality is its main business industry tourism and mining is badly affected.
He further called BJP to be communal party who forces its belief of one religion on everybody. During the convetion Abhijit Dhargalkar was appointed the North Goa District President of NCP and Pritam Naik was appointed as Vasco Youth President of NCP.
