BBSM gearing up for show of strength

The outfit to organise four meetings in November, December

PANJIM: Ahead of the ensuing 2017 State Assembly elections, the Bharatiya Bhasha Suraksha Manch (BBSM) is gearing up to prove its show of strength by organising four major public meetings, two each in North and South Goa between November and December, this year.

In the last one week, BBSM held awareness meetings in 33 constituencies strengthening its organisational set up to ensure it manages to attract nearly 5000 supporters in each of its four conventions.
BBSM has planned Women convention's on November 10 in Mapusa and on November 27 in Margao. Similarly, Youth Convention's will be held on November 29 in PanJim and December 2 in Ponda.
“These will be our major conventions ahead of elections. We have launched our party Goa Suraksha Manch, which will be fighting polls in alliance with Shiv Sena,” BBSM Secretary Subhash Dessai said.
He said that BBSM, having a strong hold in 30 constituencies, has in last one week held awareness meetings in 33 constituencies and it received very good response. “We have our organisational set up in all these constituencies. We have asked our workers to ensure maximum participation for the scheduled public meetings. Our target is 5000 for each meeting,” Dessai said.
BBSM, which had earlier led a massive anti-Congress wave during 2012 assembly election over Medium of Instruction policy, is now working against the BJP for failing to withdraw grants to English schools.
