‘People have no money to pay for posts’

Panaji: Laxmikant Parsekar-government’s decision to ban recruitments is linked to the demonetization issue and not to the 7th pay commission recommendation, Goa Suraksha Manch (GSM) said on Wednesday.
GSM president Anand Shirodkar came down heavily on the state government saying the decision is directly related to shortage of cash in the market.
“People have no cash to pay for the posts and hence the recruitments had to be stopped,” Shirodkar alleged at a press conference in Panaji on Wednesday.
He sarcastically said Goa has seen what the BJP means by “zero tolerance to corruption”. Over the last few months, the government had been doing financial planning for the 7th pay commission. So how come suddenly the government thought of stopping the recruitment under the guise of new pay scales?” Shirodkar said. The 2000-odd youth who had applied for various posts should come onto the streets and not fall prey to BJP’s gimmicks, he said.
