Parsekar welcomes any return moves by Parrikar

PANJIM: While the State BJP leadership says there have been no talks about Union Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar returning to Goa politics, Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar has openly welcomed his predecessor.
“It is very happy news. I am happy… he is always welcome in state politics,” Parsekar said on the sidelines of the swearing in ceremony of the Lokayukta. “I am not aware about any such news… what I have come to know is through media reports,” he added.
During a recent media briefing in New Delhi, Parrikar hinted at returning to State politics, wherein he had said that he draws political strength only from Goa.
Reacting to the same, BJP State president Vinay Tendulkar said there has been no discussion about Parrikar’s return to State politics. “If he is coming back then he is welcome. I am completely in sync with the statement of the Chief Minister. But for now there has been no such discussion by the party. At least nothing has been discussed with me. What I am getting to know is through the media.”
