Sanads will be issued in Mayem evacuee property: CM

PANAJI: With only few months to go for the assembly election, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) state executive committee meeting decided to issue sanads to owners of the houses existing under custodian of evacuee property of Mayem from August 15.

The BJP state executive meeting was attended by defence minister Manohar Parrikar, chief minister Laxmikant Parsekar, deputy chief minister Francis D'Souza, BJP state unit president Vinay Tendulkar and others.
Speaking to mediapersons after the meeting, Parsekar said BJP has been able to solve the issue of evacuee property which was pending for the last 55 years.
"Survey of evacuee property is completed. We have also received an application for a sanad and the time has come to issue a sanad to the owners of the houses and we have kept a target to issue a sanad from August 15," he added. While stating that they have kept the provision to amend the ordinance recently approved by the government to regularize houses on private property, Parsekar said that the state government will introduce the bill in the next assembly session to regularize unauthorized houses constructed on comunidade and government land. "We will also bring the bill for the ordinance issued last week," he added.
During BJP's state executive committee meeting, a BJP leader explained to members how to file the forms for regularization of unauthorized houses.
BJP state executive also reviewed the progress on Deen Dayal Swasthya Seva universal medical scheme.
Parsekar said that the scheme has started taking momentum. "Now registration for universal medical scheme has gone upto 2,000 and in the coming day, it is likely to touch 2,500," he added.
Speaking on LED bulb scheme which would be implemented in the state to reduce electricity bill, Parsekar said under LED scheme, three bulbs would be given to each family.
"We have decided to distribute 15 lakh LED bulbs to 5 lakh families before Ganesh Chaturthi," he said, adding further that LED bulbs would be distributed irrespective of family income.
BJP state executive also asked its members to identify the beneficiaries of government scheme and hold the meeting with them and explain the benefit of the BJP government to them.
