Panaji: The condition of deputy speaker Vishnu Surya Wagh who is also the chairman of the Kala Academy Goa, is stable and his condition hasn't improved, the government stated in a pressnote on Friday. He is undergoing treatment at Hinduja Hospital in Mumbai.
The dean of Goa Medical College, Dr Pradeep Naik, released Wagh's medical bulletin at 4pm on Friday but this wasn't shared with the media.
"Expert treatment has begun and the next 24 hours will tell us how he responds," chief minister Laxmikant Parsekar told reporters on Friday.
The pressnote stated that Wagh is under the treatment of a panel of three specialist doctors Dr Hedge (intensive care unit), Dr P P Ashok (neuro), Dr G R Kane (cardiac).
Neurosurgeon Dr P S Ramani has also visited Hinduja Hospital and spoken to doctors treating Wagh, the pressnote further stated.
Kala Academy vice-chairman Sushant Khedekar is also at the hospital along with Wagh's family members. The government has requested people not to spread rumours on social media regarding his health.
Earlier in the day Naik said Wagh was shifted in a private ambulance and not the hospital's ambulance because the portable ventilator couldn't be accommodated.
The hospital is in the process of equipping three ambulances acquired user MPLAD he said.
