BICHOLIM: Mayem Matadar Sangh Vikas Manch, a newly-formed organisation, has expressed its desire to field its candidate in Mayem against BJP.
Addressing a press conference, president Rajesh Kalangutkar said, "We had started this organisation for the development of the constituency and after talking to the public it was felt that there should be a political cell for the organization.”
"We will develop different cells by involving people from all strata from the constituency. In this organisation there are people from all parties and we are in talks with MGP," Kalangutkar said adding "If we do not have MGP candidate, we will contest through the manch."
At present there are three tentative candidates - Santosh Sawant, Ramchandra Garde and Vijay Gaonkar. "Despite BJP being in power in the state there was no development in the constituency. Chorao Bridge and Mayem evacuee issues have been pending and so BJP has very less chances of getting votes in Mayem," Kalangutkar added. Ramchandra Garde, Santosh Sawant and others were present.
